BACKGROUND
Graeme is a Tax Director at K3 Tax Advisory, who joined the firm in January 2025. Graeme is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) with senior experience gained at a global management consultancy, a specialist tax boutique, and an international accountancy firm. Graeme has advised a diverse range of clients – from owner-managed businesses and their shareholders to multinational corporate groups, private equity funds and international investors – on a wide range of UK tax matters, including transactions, restructurings, tax compliance, and post-transaction planning.
Before joining K3 Tax Advisory, Graeme led the UK-wide Portfolio Tax Services team at a US-based management consultancy, where he advised private equity-owned corporate groups on tax compliance and post-completion tax planning.
Graeme has particular expertise in Land and Buildings Transaction Tax. Graeme is the author of Land and Buildings Transaction Tax and Property Taxes, both published by Bloomsbury Professional. Graeme also regularly deliver seminars and training sessions to tax professionals, solicitors, and accountants.

Whether working with business owners planning a succession or advising multinational groups on complex restructurings, he strives to deliver accurate and well-considered tax solutions that support his clients’ broader business and personal goals.

- Leading the UK tax compliance and group reporting for a global pharmaceutical company with turnover of c.$5bn, owned by multiple private equity investors.
- Advising a UK-headquartered multinational on a large-scale group restructuring and refinancing project, balancing tax, commercial, legal, and accounting considerations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Working closely with the shareholders of a successful UK consumer business on pre-sale tax planning, including shareholder structuring, succession planning, and facilitating a partial exit to private equity.
- Providing detailed LBTT and property tax advice on a variety of properties and estates in Scotland, securing valuable reliefs and minimising tax exposure.
- Helping the owners of a fast-growing tech business prepare for their first acquisition, guiding them through tax due diligence, transaction structuring, and integration planning.
- Advising portfolio companies of various private equity firms – including CVC, Ara Partners and Sovereign Capital Partners – on post-acquisition tax matters such as interest deductibility, tax forecasting, group rationalisation, and tax accounting.
